Monday from 2.30 until 4.30 pm

Drawing on Flood & Redaelli's (2016) understanding of creative placekeeping as a transformative lever that builds a stronger community and brings together different practices such as urban planning, public art and social and cultural policy, this seminar will critically examine and discuss approaches, strategies and institutions that work with art (music, literature, visual arts) as a form of placekeeping and shape social space at local, regional, and international levels.

What role do artists, initiatives and institutions play in the context of placekeeping and community-engaged art? Together we look at institutions and initiatives working in the field of community-engaged art, urban and rural development, and international exchange programs. The seminar plans to visit institutions and artists in the region. Seminar participants will be asked to prepare interviews, lectures, and presentations.
